Evan Shipard is a concept artist and matte painter for the Narnia movies, 300, the upcoming Wolverine movie, and others. He attended the Master Class and created the very cool Robin Hood painting you see here. Evan had some time in New York before heading back to Australia so, of course, lots of food and great conversation was called for.
Safe travels, Evan.
Hey Evan!! That's awesome you were able to hook up with Irene. I wouldn't be surprised if one day your work is on the cover of Spectrum. I'll be able to say I watched you paint your first oil painting in the Master class of 2008. Happy travels!
ReplyDeleteThose are some SWEET paintings. Great angle on the Robin Hood? one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the show.

Gorgeous stuff!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely stuff. Nice and painterly...swishy. And nice to see both oil and digital. I think that's when the twane meet, as it were. Not the medium..it's the talent..
ReplyDeleteHis work is fantastic! Thanks for introducing me to all these great artists.
ReplyDeleteThat Robin Hood was one of my favorites! It has such a sense of atmosphere and the unusual angle sucks you in. I'm not surprised to find out that he's a concept artist.
ReplyDeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteEvan's an incredible artist and his Robin Hood shows it!
ReplyDeleteNot really on-subject, but I just applied for an Advertising/Promotions Assistant opening at Tor. Wish me luck!
