Greg Manchess and Oregon's Sesquicentennial

Stamp collectors out there, there's a Manchess a-coming. Greg was asked to paint Oregon's 150th birthday stamp. Here is a post he wrote about the unveiling. Funnily enough, the Postal Service had no idea that Greg lives in Oregon when they asked him to do the stamp. Next up, Greg will be painting a Mark Twain stamp.

Yep, Oregon has good taste!

I lived in Portland for 23 years - wonderful place!

I'll have to walk down to the post office & buy that stamp! I wonder if they're going to release all of them (once they're all done) in a "collector's edition."

Congratulations to Greg! Well done. I just saw the Pirates Exhibition in Philly a week ago, my friend Shane and I went mostly for his paintings, we were totally geeking over them and just sort of went from one painting to the next, oogling them. I don't think the other people there around us quite understood.. :x

I should have mentioned, the unveiling was last week, but the first issue of the stamp will be in January. And, apparently that is an even fancier to-do with many crazed stamp collectors in tow.
