I saw a lot of great portfolios at Comic Com. Here are just two of the many that I remember. Both of these are from recent Ringling and Illustration Academy grads. It will be a pleasure to watch these two young careers grow.

Edward Kinsella III's work is wondrous. I hope to see more of his work. He's got a great sense of the mundane crossed with the fantastic. The style reminds me of Jon Foster's work on The Books Of Magic, but a bit more abstracted forms, which is nice, because it opens the composition of the work up without getting caught up in small details. Also, the two of them seem to like having red noses/cheeks on fair skinned people, which I find fun.
The illustration "Greed And Wickedness" on his blog is something out of the crossroads of Charles DeLint and Neil Gaiman.
Hey Josh,
Such thoughtful comments!
If you have a thing for red noses, do you know the artist Red Nose Studios? I love this guy’s work. Unfortunately, it’s not the kind of thing I can use often, but I had a blast working with him on a young adult trilogy called THE BORRIBLES.

Good stuff! I find myself wondering if I've seen the Red Nose Studios stuff in an animation festival. Looks familiar.
Yeah, Red Nose _does_ have that Bothers Quay feel to it.
