Robert Jordan (Jim Rigney), 1948-2007

I've never had a professional life without Robert Jordan in it...It’s sad to start now.

Irene,

The world is at a loss. I never read anything other than his conan stuff, I had bought Winters Heart (book 9 in WOT) and was going to start it this weekend. I started it today.
Please pass our best on to the family.

Thank you

Tracy

It's pretty sad, and alarming too that he died rather young...I myself have witnessed too many friends dying or becoming gravely ill. In fact, I've written appreciations after death of some very good ones, including Ron Walotsky and Kelly Freas. Death is inevitable, but no one is really ready for it either from any corner when it happens. That's why it's important-and I tell people this especially young people- to have fun, and moments with these people that they live on through you. My condolences to the family as even though we're strangers, we're all partners in imagination in one way or the other.

" The friends that we have lost do not repose in the bosom of the earth, but are buried deep in our hearts; and it has been thus ordained, that we may always be accompanied by them"

Bob, is right, have fun, make memories, so that others may live on thru you.

I was so sad to hear this. I had stopped reading his books at around number 4 simply because I had such a hard time keeping everyone straight and I planned that someday I would go read them all again once he had finished. While I'm sure the series will be finished, I am saddened by his short life and the fact that he won't be able to do this himself.
