Haaaaa ! Where's that museum, Irene ???
You certainly understand my interest for it, according to my late work. And again, thank you for the comment about it. ;) Is that in NY area ? Thanks for the pics, that's gorgeous, and this kind of museum, a goldmine for illustrators/artists. ^^
Peace.

I love that part of the museum, I took quite a lot of pictures in that room a couple of years ago that I reference all the time. I was even able to use a few of them for my friend's music site.

Thanks for posting that, I can't wait to go back to D.C. someday.

The silhouettes of each creature posed behind the skeleton is very creative and clever.

The skeletons were my favorite part of the museum - in large part because of the exhibition deisgn. I ended up there by accident (looking for the dinosaurs) but once in, I could have spent all day.

Julien - This museum is in DC, abut 3 hours south of New York. If you ever take an extended vacation in the States, and if you like museums, it's a great place to visit. Once here, all the museums are free....or, more accurately, pre-paid by tax dollars.

Irene, the hall of skeletons at the Natural History Museum is one of my secret favorite places. The skeletons of the snakes and the mammals are absolutely magic. They really show you that artists get their sense of design and harmony and balance from nature. It is a very special place that deserves long contemplation.

Another place with a similar aura is the museum of the La Brea Tar Pit in LA. They have a long wall with hundreds of skulls of animals that perished in the tar pits, illuminated from behind. If you haven't been there, it's worth the visit.
