Realms of Fantasy, closing up shop.

This is sad news. I've had a Realms of Fantasy subscription for years. They had a strong dedication to artists. Each issue featured an artist's gallery and all of their stories were accompanied by illustration. I always looked forward to getting the new edition and seeing a great mix of season pros and newer artists cutting their teeth.

sad news indeed. It was one of my must read/view mags...

Mine too. All of the various 'pocolypes of the moment do not seem to bode well. At some point might you share your thoughts on the (immediate) future of fantasy illustration/publishing?

Sad news indeed... being a young illustrator, it's definitely upsetting to hear of them closing since they were so encouraging of new talent.

Likewise sad to hear this! I was an artist thankful for getting the opportunity to work for the magazine. I have very fond memories of working for editors Carl Gnam and Shawna McCarthy. They were great to work for and assigned stories I really enjoyed illustrating.

:( The artistic freedom they offered allowed me to do some of my Fave paintings. RIP ROF

I feel horrible for everyone there. I loved working with Laura. I wish more people in her position would allow the freedom that she doled out. I loved every piece I did for them... and that's a true rarity.
